There are a few things you will need in order to try out any VRMS cheerleading squad. An application form, a completed physical form, and teacher recommendation forms. These items can be found on this page.
All forms must be turned in by the due date set by coach or the student WILL NOT be allowed to participate in try-outs.
Grades: Students are not allowed to fail more than one class to be eligible to try out and participate in a sport at VRMS.
What is involved?
Cheerleading tryouts last from 2-3 days.
You will learn a dance routine and a chant which will be performed for judges.
You will be asked to do two jumps: Toe touch and pike.
You will be asked to do a round-off. If you have any higher level tumbling, you will be asked to do that.
Your scores from the judges will be added together with the teacher recommendation scores for a final overall score.
Scores will be posted online at the Villa Rica Middle School website after 8:00 p.m. the day of try-outs.
